چکیده
ABSTRACT In this Letter, using classified 197 supernovae (SNe) Ia, we perform an analysis of their height distributions from the disc in edge-on spirals and investigate light-curve (LC) decline rates (Δm15). We demonstrate, for first time, that 91T- 91bg-like subclasses SNe Ia are distributed differently toward plane host disc. The average its comparison with scales thin/thick components gives a possibility to roughly estimate progenitor ages: 91T-like events, being at smallest heights, originate relatively younger progenitors ages about several 100 Myr, SNe, having highest distribution, arise significantly older ∼10 Gyr, normal which between those two others, one up Gyr. find correlation LC SN is explained by vertical age gradient stellar population discs sub-Chandrasekhar mass white dwarf explosion models, where Δm15 parameter indicator.

The Rate of Type Ia Supernovae in Nearby Dwarf Galaxies
We used the Robotic Optical Transient Search Experiment (ROTSE-III) astrophysical transient survey to determine the rate of type Ia supernovae (SNe Ia) in dwarf galaxies within a radius of 310 Mpc. The rate is inferred from the SNe Ia sample discovered by ROTSE-III and a Monte Carlo simulation that estimates the ROTSE-III SNe Ia detection efficiency. Assuming that the rate of SNe Ia is the same...
متن کاملJet Triggered Type Ia Supernovae in Radio-galaxies?
We report the serendipitous discovery of a supernova (SN) in the nearby radio-galaxy 3C 78. Observations obtained with the STIS spectrograph on board the Hubble Space Telescope show, at a distance of 0.54 arcsec (300 pc) from the galaxy nucleus, a second bright source, not present in previous images. As this source was fortuitously covered by the spectrograph slit its spectrum was obtained and ...
متن کاملWhy Are Radio-Galaxies Prolific Producers of Type Ia Supernovae?
An analysis of SNIa events in early type galaxies from the Cappellaro et al. (1999) database provides conclusive evidence that the rate of type Ia Supernovae (SNe) in radio-loud galaxies is about 4 times higher than the rate measured in radio-quiet galaxies, i.e. SNIa-rate(radio− loud galaxies) = 0.43 −0.14h 2 75 SNu as compared to SNIa-rate(radio− quiet galaxies) = 0.11 −0.03h 2 75 SNu. The ac...
متن کاملLuminosity Functions of Type Ia Supernovae and their Host Galaxies from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey
The sample of 137 low-redshift type Ia supernovae with 0.05 ≤ z ≤ 0.3 obtained from the SDSS-II Supernova Survey for the southern equatorial stripe of 300 square degrees is used to derive the luminosity functions of type Ia supernovae and of their host galaxies in the gri passbands. We show that the luminosity function of type Ia supernova host galaxies matches well with that of galaxies in the...
متن کاملType Ia Supernovae
Type Ia Supernovae are in many aspects still enigmatic objects. Their observational and theoretical exploration is in full swing, but we still have plenty to learn about these explosions. Recent years have already witnessed a bonanza of supernova observations. The increased samples from dedicated searches have allowed the statistical investigation of Type Ia Supernovae as a class. The observati...
